Ever wondered what would happen if the U.S.A's mightiest superteam met the stars of the U.K.'s most miserable soap opera....?
This isn't an Amalgam and I've already featured it on my other blog, but I was quite pleased with it so I thought I'd pop it up here too.
For our non-UK visitors, Eastenders is a long running British soap opera that focuses on the domestic and professional lives of the people who live and work in the fictional London Borough of Walford. It is very depressing.
This was originally the cover of Justice League of America #21 (1963) by Mike Sekowsky and Murphy Anderson.
Dot Branning, Ian Beale, Phil Mitchell, Pat Evans, Patrick Trueman and Heather Trott are all drawn by me.

I've never seen Eastenders, only Coronnation Street (which we call Wallpapers & Shelves over here, just look at the background of every set), but I've always enjoyed how American soaps were so high society and UK soaps so working class.
ReplyDeleteCanadian soaps are, of course, extremely rural. So to each their own.
